Updates
What's new.
All updates and improvements for QuietClip.
v1.4.0
Paste Queue: copy several things, paste them in order
- new Paste Queue (Pro) -- start the queue, copy several items, then paste them one-by-one in the order you copied them
- new Press Control+Command+V to paste the next item in the queue, straight into any app
- new Manage the queue from the panel: see what is lined up, paste the next one, or clear it
- new Right-click any clip and choose Add to Paste Queue to build a queue from your history
- improved New setting to keep your history in its original order after pasting, instead of moving the pasted clip to the top
v1.3.0
Now on Sonoma, with pause and resume
- new QuietClip now runs on macOS 14 Sonoma, not just Sequoia
- new Press Cmd and a number (Cmd+1 to Cmd+9) to instantly paste one of your most recent clips
- new Pause and resume clipboard capture from the panel footer or the menu bar -- handy when you are copying something sensitive
- new Open a copied link straight from your history, no need to paste it first
- new Copied a color like #FF5733 or rgb(255, 87, 51)? It now shows a color swatch in the list
- new Exclude any app from clipboard capture, with Bitwarden now blocked by default alongside 1Password and Keychain
- improved Auto-delete history on shorter timeframes too, from 5 minutes up to 90 days
v1.2.1
Movable panel, faster with large histories
- new Move the clipboard panel anywhere -- drag it by its background and it reopens right where you left it, instead of always in the center of the screen
- improved The clipboard panel now opens instantly even with hundreds of clips -- rows are built as you scroll instead of all at once
- improved Typing in search and navigating with arrow keys is much snappier, especially with large histories
- improved Far lower memory usage when your history contains images -- thumbnails are now small, cached, and decoded in the background
- improved Large image clips are stored compressed, keeping your clipboard database lean
- internal Storage upgrade verified to preserve all existing clips, pins, and images in place
- Copying a very large image (like a big screenshot) no longer briefly freezes the app
- Pasting an image file from a slow or network drive no longer risks hanging the app
- Copied SVG files now show a real thumbnail preview in the clip list
v1.2.0
Your clipboard, refined
- new Customizable global hotkey -- change Cmd+Shift+V to any shortcut you want in Settings
- new Plain text paste -- hold Option when pasting to strip formatting, or flip the global toggle in Settings
- new Monitoring heartbeat -- a subtle footer shows when your last clip was captured, so you always know QuietClip is working
- new Sleep/wake resilience -- clipboard monitoring now survives sleep, lid close, and display sleep without missing a beat
- new Auto-delete by age -- automatically clean up clips older than 1, 7, 30, or 90 days in Privacy settings
- improved Faster queries with SwiftData indexing for Pro users with large histories
- improved Onboarding now announces step progress to VoiceOver
- Changing your hotkey no longer leaks system event handlers
- Quitting during onboarding no longer crashes
- Rapidly toggling the panel no longer causes it to flicker or disappear
v1.1.1
Smoother scrolling and faster previews
- improved Image and file previews now load in the background, so scrolling through a long history stays smooth instead of briefly stalling
- improved Faster, more responsive clipboard panel when browsing items with thumbnails
- internal Expanded automated test coverage for history limits and pinned-item handling
v1.1.0
Redesigned onboarding, auto-paste setting, smarter clipboard
- new Redesigned onboarding with animated clipboard demo, keyboard shortcuts guide, paste mode explanation, and privacy overview
- new "Paste automatically" option in Preferences — paste clips directly into your active app (off by default, opt-in)
- new Sensitive clipboard filtering — passwords and temporary content from 1Password, KeeWeb, and other managers are automatically ignored
- new Owl mascot illustrations throughout onboarding
- improved Refreshed Preferences with card-based layout and improved readability
- improved VoiceOver support in settings
- internal Clipboard monitoring now uses Swift concurrency instead of Timer
